New aerial vehicle will deliver packages in less than 30 minutes
Amazon showed off the latest in its new home delivery method: Amazon Prime Air. This is a drone designed to deliver packages to customers in 30 minutes or less and safely. The online shopping giant said that seeing delivery drones will be as common as seeing mail trucks on the road.
The drones will fly at an altitude of no more than 120 meters and will carry packages weighing no more than 25 kilos. They also have technology that allows them to "sense" when an object is approaching and avoid it.
While the drone model unveiled this weekend closely resembles the shape of a bed, Amazon says the shape is not final, as it is currently testing several prototypes in its research and development department.
In a statement posted on its website, Amazon explains that putting this vehicle into service may take some time, as they must wait to comply with all regulatory elements.
